Happy Earth š Day !! I love this day!!
Those whom know me, know I love mythology and in honor of Gaia I tell her story today.
Gaia, the most beautiful, set out a breath of air and her son and husband Uranus was born. She always knew that she was capable of baring the most beautiful beings and she set out that intention to the universe. She so loved the world. Uranus son and husband king of the air element was quite untamed. He would reap havoc on her lands blowing and mixing elements as he wished. He trembled the lands, flooded the lands, and crumbled them too!
This is how he started mating with Gaia. They both created all beings on this earth. He continued to have his way and would bare children with her and do as he pleased. Uranus had an unquenchable thirst. Gaia was saddened by this, as she desired a world with peace, harmony, and joy. As she had Uranusās children he did not wish for them to thrive, so he would then shove these children deep into Gaiaās crust. These children were said to be horribly violent, not the most beautiful, nor kind. Gaia desired to stop having children but Uranus wouldnāt listen. This hurt Gaia on so many levels that she became full of despair. Her first offsprings were brut and violent creatures, whom would kill each other and cause lots of chaos. These were the cyclops, titans, and pythons. Although, not all were like this, the majority were this way and she had to place a stop to this. Amongst all her children she had Saturn. Saturn was different and she knew he could help her. She then pleated to him to kill his father Uranus. What a cross to bare for a child?!?! Saturn had to make a mature decision as he saw how his father would take advantage of his mother. He so loved her and his father too, he couldnāt kill him. This took a big toll on him and he had to grow up quickly (no wonder, when people have a strong Saturn in their natal chart, they carry lots of responsibilities and have a aura of a mature soul š¤ š). He concluded to his own decision, taking the justice in to his hands (no wonder he is exhaulted in the sign of Libra āļø).
One night when Uranus came to Gaia ā Saturn set out to help his mother and castrated his father Uranus. Saturn then tossed his fathers genitals in to the ocean where they could never be found. From this tragic event the beautiful Venus was born out of the ocean and Uranusās genitals. The significance is much deeper thoughā as this act denotes that water bares life and that water is fertile, thus Uranus no longer needed to fertilize Gaia. Venus was now the fertility goddess. Saturn took a liking to Venus and get along quite well. Venus represented the fruit of such act to harmonize his parents relationship.
Uranus immediately realized what he had done to his wife Gaia and pushed away, making a promise to never do that again. He loved her so, that he formed the atmosphere and vowed to protect and incubate life on Gaia (ozone layer was born). Uranus vowed to never do such acts with his mother but only protect her.
Saturn then inherited the kingdom of Gaia for his devotion and dedication. With such responsibility placed up on him, he slowly turned into his father, eating his children in fear that they would over power him as he once did his father Uranus. š³ He was carrying so much guilt and resentment that he was never the same. However, thatās another myth for another time! Life on Gaia, started to blossom with plants, animals, and humans. This story never seizes to amaze me.
How to connect with Gaia today?
Taking a moment to center ourself and ground is recommended today. I typically ground daily but today will be extra special. You can connect to Gaia with crystals, meditation, and all of the elements especially water and dirt. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables today and enjoy all the beauty around you.
Check out these awesome crystal suggestions by my friend Kathy from The Healing Gem.

Brief History of Earth Day š
Earth Day primary objective was to show the political leadership of the Nation that there was broad and deep support for the environmental movement. Two thousand colleges and universities, ten thousand high schools and grade schools, and several thousand communities in all, more than twenty million Americans participated in one of the most exciting and significant grassroots efforts in the history of this country.
Earth Day 1970 made it clear that we could summon the public support, the energy, and commitment to save our environment. In the following ten years since 1970 much of the basic legislation needed to protect the environment has been enacted into law:
the Clean Air Act,
the Water Quality Improvement Act,
the Water Pollution and Control Act Amendments,
the Resource Recovery Act,
the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act,
the Toxic Substances Control Act,
the Occupational Safety and Health Act,
the Federal Environmental Pesticide Control Act,
the Endangered Species Act,
the Safe Drinking Water Act,
the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, and
the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act.
And, the most important piece of environmental legislation in our history, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) was signed into law on January 1, 1970. NEPA came about in response to the same public pressure which later produced Earth Day.*
Earth Day Event Chart & Current Transits
Iād love to touch on the astrology of today as itās quite interesting. The most significant planet I noticed in the event chart was Saturn ā at 10Ā° Taurus āļø. We are currently having Uranus ā¢ transit 10Ā° Taurus āļø. Both the planets that were involved in the mythology, šÆ. Earth Day was founded on April 22, 1970, there was a Full moon in Scorpio āļø and the moon ā½ , Jupiter ā , and Gaia ā were in opposition to the Sun ā, Saturn ā, Venus, Mercury in Taurus āļø forming a Stellium just like today event chart. Mars was also in the sign of Gemini āļø along with Chiron in Aries āļø as well.
ā¢ Uranusās symbol is that of the Sun āand Mars ātogether. The symbol of creation with force.
ā Gaia Earthās symbol is that of Venus āupside down. Indicated the desire to pass the tourch of fertility to her Earthlings.
Uranus and Gaia the cosmic creators of our world while Mars and Venus the cosmic lovers. š¤
When analyzing the event chart of this humanitarian declaration, Earth Day 4/22/1970 and our current Solar Return transits. You canāt help but notice that there are a lot of synchronicities in the charts. The transiting moon in Virgo āļø is conjunction event charts South Node in Virgo, bringing up all concerns issues to the forefront. Pluto in Virgo āļø forming a trine with t. Pluto in Capricorn āļø asking use to transform and evolve.
Thereās a reason why this energy is being revisited by Saturn and Uranus, although they may have their differences, they both rule the sign of Aquarius āļø. Like the old saying goes, āLike Father, Like Son,ā or the āApple doesnāt fall far from the tree.ā What was anticipated by Saturn is moderated by Venus in Taurus is now being looked at by a different perspective with Venus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius. We need to change the way we are carrying out the care of mother Gaia.
The transit Virgo āļø moon is forming a strong applying trine to the Sun in Taurus and a sextile to event moon in Scorpio, the message here is that we need to be find a way to incorporate earth care in our daily routines and change our habits as a collective. The transit nodes are also aspecting from mutable signs of Gemini and Sagittarius to event nodes of Virgo and Pisces, this is a call to action. Taking care of nature, reducing our carbon footprint, protecting animals, growing more natural food, and reducing the amount of tangible products that we use so they wonāt end up in dump fields and oceans. Neptune rules plastics and the oceans, we need to be take care of our water resources and the sea life kingdom.
I am honored to be living in such a time and very grateful for all the beauty on this earth. My natal Neptune Conjunct Jupiter in the 6H has always had this unconditional love for the world and all the plants and animals on it. My promise to Gaia, is to take my time to appreciate her each and every day by making conscious decisions and teaching my children to care for all living things as much as I always have, and changing my habits around consumption. The cycle of life needs to be looked at to see what we need to fertilize our soil and feed all the animals that support human kind.
Thank you so much for reading this post! Let me know your thoughts. What do you do to help Gaia?
